Ceitronics a Pioneer of Systems Integration and Internet Infrastructure Services
Ceitronics, Inc. of San Jose and San Francisco, California is one of the leading systems integration contractors in the western United States. Founded in 1985, Ceitronics provides integration services within the disciplines of Internet/e-business, audio and video systems, voice/data/fiber optics, education, fire life safety systems, security systems, and post completion services. Ceitronics coined the phrase “communication systems integration” to describe this emphasis. History The systems integration industry exploded during the early 1980s, when the communications industry was deregulated and telephone companies eliminated low profit units, specifically the ones that wired buildings. Ceitronics was one of the first contractors to recognize the burgeoning opportunities in the low voltage field. Ceitronics was also one of the first to initiate a labor agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), forming an alliance that is still standing. Another competitive advantage for Ceitronics is its long-time relationship with IBM, which has given it a technological edge within the network installations industry. Ceitronics has experienced rapid growth in recent years with the design and construction of Internet data centers and co-location facilities, installing electrical and data infrastructure for companies that host broadband Internet services. Ceitronics is a member of the National Electrical Contractors Association, NECA. Management and Financials Ceitronics has over 100 employees, including project managers, educational technology, CAD drafters, electrical engineers, buyers, and electronic bench and field technicians. Ceitronics is held by Cupertino Electric, Inc., a Delaware corporation, (www.cei.com) and operates under its own management team. It has an operating line of credit with Bank of America. Clients Ceitronics’ clients include IBM, Hewlett Packard, Peoplesoft, Anderson Consulting, Ticket Master, CNet, Autodesk, and BEA systems. Ceitronics is the resident voice/data contractor for IBM and East Bay MUD, and installed the statewide voice/data network for Bank of America’s Customer On-Line Information Network. Ceitronics was responsible for the $5 million installation of the audio/video system in San Francisco City Hall. Ceitronics was also the systems integrator for the Oakland Coliseum, and fabricated, installed and integrated the audio/video system for the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House. Ceitronics has been the systems integrator for a number of public buildings in the Bay Area, including the City of Oakland Council Chamber, City of Alameda Council Chamber, Hayward City Hall (designer as well as systems integrator), City of Fremont Council Chamber, and the Sacramento County Board Hearing Room.
