IBM San Jose Campus

Ceitronics installed a LAN fire life safety system throughout IBM’s San Jose Campus on Cottle Road. The Cottle Road facility is the largest IBM campus west of the Mississippi. The installed system was created as a simple solution to integrate diverse multiple building systems into a unified platform that’s easy to operate. The system encompasses all of the 50-plus buildings on campus and is monitored by one computer at the IBM network command center.

It features a graphical control panel that monitors the status of hundreds of fire and smoke detection points in the buildings on the system. Any change in state is relayed instantaneously. The fiber path includes new fiber network that IBM provided, as well as use of the existing fiber network. Ceitronics also installed additional fiber network. The existing copper path was used in some cases.
